Omega’s new anti-magnetic Seamaster Aqua Terra watch will go on sale soon.
It is the first watch not requiring a Faraday Cage to minimize the effects of magnetism.
Unlike the Rolex Milgauss that is said to withstand a magnetic flux density of 1,000 gauss, the Omega prototype was subjected higher levels of magnetism up to and greater than 15,000 gauss.
As per the Omega press release, “Unlike other efforts to combat the effects of magnetism, the OMEGA movement does not rely on a protective container inside the watchcase but on the use of selected non-ferrous materials in the movement itself.”
The Rolex Milgauss sold out very quickly, finding one new today is a challenge. This new OMEGA Seamaster Aqua Terra will surely become a hot item.
